Use your personal life experiences to create soulful art that represents your journey. Creating an abstract work of art can be relaxing and cathartic as you tap into your memories and transfer those emotions into a design made of a variety of textiles. You can use a combination of your favorite materials (yarn, cloth, hosiery, t-shirts, etc.). Establish a mood by selecting the appropriate colors, and use scale and proportion to show the world a message that you want to convey about yourself.
This online class, like all of my classes, has information about color theory, but from there topics about how to use scale and proportions in your hooked rugs will guide you to understand how to make the most of these crucial design elements. In addition, you will explore which colors represent you best, so you can create your own spirit rug. Take a couple color quizzes that are in the Guidebook, even if it’s just for fun!
